New British Defense Secretary John Hutton backs EU Army - Aislinn Simpson
He said Britain should be willing to contribute to a European force to sit alongside Nato, citing as a good example the plans for a European force to be sent to Somalia before Christmas to crack down on spiralling levels of piracy and hostage taking. Mr Sarkozy has suggested Europe's military structures have a new headquarters and rapid reaction forces of 1,500 troops from each member country.
