European Union To Boycott Jerusalem Day
YNet News reported Sunday that Germany's European Union president said in a recent letter that the organization's members will not accept an invitation from Israel to help celebrate Jerusalem's reunification 40 years ago. The letter also said none of the European Union ambassadors will attend a special Knesset meeting on the honorary day Wednesday.
European countries do not recognize Jerusalem's reunification. As far as they are concerned, east Jerusalem, which was occupied during the Six Day War, is an occupied territory.
