"Work programme of the forthcoming EU Presidency
On 29 November 2006 the Federal cabinet has adopted the programme of the German EU Presidency. It builds on the work of the Finnish Presidency and takes account of the Commission’s strategic work programme for 2007. The German Presidency programme is closely related to the current 18-month programme drawn up by the European Council and finalizes its goals and projects for the first six months of 2007. The 18-month programme of the Council was drawn up jointly by Germany and the following Presidencies Portugal and Slovenia. It was adopted by the Council of the European Union in its meeting on 11 December 2006."
