UN resolution to be followed ‘strictly’: says Russia

We expect all sides to abide strictly to the decision by the UN Security Council,’ the Russian foreign ministry said in a written statement. The resolution adopted Friday is ‘a first important step on the path to overcoming this extremely dangerous crisis,’ the statement said. The UN Security Council unanimously called for an end to the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah and for the deployment of a 15,000-strong international peacekeeping force.
